A Museum Of Waxwings
Every winter Waxwings make their way over to the UK from Scandinavia to feast mainly on Rowan berries. The number can vary greatly depending on the abundance of available food in their breeding regions. This year it has been poor leading to much larger numbers migrating to the UK with a flock of more than 500 being seen in Elgin, Scotland recently. A group of Waxwings are known as a Museum of Waxwings and I was lucky enough to see 7 together feasting on Rowan berries in a Lidl supermarket recently. I have attached the few photos I managed to get below.
